9. How does Fruit Boost work? The active ingredient in Fruit Boost is a pheromone (QMP) produced by honey bee queens. It is a powerful contact pheromone but is not highly volatile. QMP affects the behaviour of a honey bee. Honey bees visit more flowers and recruit more bees after contacting QMP.
10. Who discovered QMP? Since the early 1960?s it was known that the queen produced a "queen substance". Some, but not all of the components were known. In 1987 scientists at Simon Fraser University found the additional components of the QMP blend. A blend of the five known components closely matched what the queen produces. Fruit Boost with QMP for Pollination is now synthesized by Pherotech Inc. |
